Ilara Kingdom and the academic community have been thrown into celebration following the well-deserved appointment of His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Olukayode Olufolarin Ogunsanwo, the Alara of Ilara Kingdom, as the 6th Pro-Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU).
In a congratulatory message, Comrade Badejo Maryam Oluwadamilola described the appointment as a remarkable milestone that reflects the monarch’s exemplary leadership, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to service.
According to her, Kabiyesi’s reign has continued to inspire progress, unity, and sustainable development within Ilara Kingdom and beyond. She noted that his commitment to advancing education, preserving culture, and promoting community growth clearly demonstrates the qualities of a visionary leader.
She further emphasized that LASU is privileged to have a royal father of such distinguished calibre contributing to its administration and strategic growth at a critical time in the institution’s development.
“This remarkable achievement is a testament to Your Royal Majesty’s outstanding leadership and passion for service. Your appointment as Pro-Chancellor will undoubtedly usher in impactful reforms and strengthen the university’s pursuit of academic excellence,” she stated.
Comrade Badejo prayed for wisdom, strength, and divine guidance for the monarch as he undertakes the dual responsibility of serving the academic community and leading his people with honour and distinction.
She concluded by wishing Kabiyesi a tenure filled with greater accomplishments and a lasting legacy, adding, “Long may you reign in prosperity and greatness.”
