HON. ABDULLAHI SESAN OLOWA INAUGURATES NEW EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF THE COUNCIL OF BAALES IN IBEJU-LEKKI; URGES ETHICAL LEADERSHIP, JUSTICE, AND INCLUSIVITY




High Chief Rosulilahi Adewale Oluwa Takes Helm as Chairman, Pledging Unity, Collaboration, and Preservation of Tradition


In a ceremony that reinforced the critical role of traditional institutions in community governance, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area, formally inaugurated the new Executive Committee of the Council of Baales (also referred to as the Baale in Council).



The event marked a seamless leadership transition, with High Chief Rosulilahi Adewale Oluwa installed as the new Chairman of the Council, succeeding the immediate past Chairman, High Chief (Dr.) Adekunle Taiwo.

In his keynote address, Hon. Olowa praised the Council for its maturity and orderly handover process. He charged the new executives to uphold the highest standards of ethical leadership, ensuring fairness, justice, and inclusivity in all decisions.

“You must be seen to be fair to all and carry everyone along,” he emphasized, while stressing the importance of adhering strictly to established procedures for admitting new members to preserve the Council’s integrity and effectiveness. He positioned the Council as a vital stabilizing force for peace and progress across Ibeju-Lekki’s towns and villages.


Accepting the responsibility, High Chief Rosulilahi Adewale Oluwa expressed deep appreciation to his predecessor, High Chief (Dr.) Adekunle Taiwo, for his exemplary service, and to Hon. Olowa for his consistent support of traditional institutions.


He pledged to build on the strong foundation already established by prioritizing unity and harmony among Baales, advocating for the welfare and development of communities, fostering closer ties with local and state governments, and safeguarding the area’s rich cultural heritage while embracing modern advancements for the collective benefit of residents.
