The presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, has reaffirmed his readiness to contest in the 2027 presidential election, declaring that Nigeria deserves leadership built on integrity, competence, and accountability.
Obi made the statement in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, during the OBIDIENT Conference and official declaration for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), themed “Activating the PO Effect in ADC.”
Addressing a large gathering of supporters, Obi delivered a strong message on leadership and trust, stating, “You can’t go and hire a thief to look after your money; you will not see anything.” The remark, which drew loud cheers from the crowd, was widely interpreted as a call for Nigerians to prioritize transparency and credibility in governance.
