Mudashiru Obasa Urges Nigerians to Embrace Unity, “Roll Away Stones of Division” in Easter Message

The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has called on Nigerians to set aside differences and work collectively toward strengthening national unity, as Christians across the country celebrate Easter.

In his goodwill message marking the Easter season, Obasa emphasized the symbolic significance of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, urging citizens to reflect on its message of hope, sacrifice, and renewal. He encouraged Nigerians to “roll away the stones of division,” drawing a parallel between the biblical resurrection story and the need for unity and reconciliation in the nation.

The Speaker noted that Nigeria’s progress depends largely on the ability of its people to rise above ethnic, religious, and political divides. He stressed that Easter presents a unique opportunity for reflection and rededication to the ideals of peace, tolerance, and mutual respect.

“Easter reminds us that even in the face of trials and uncertainty, there is always hope for a new beginning. As a people, we must embrace this message by promoting unity, fostering understanding, and working together for the greater good of our nation,” Obasa stated.

He further urged leaders at all levels to demonstrate commitment to nation-building through inclusive governance and policies that promote harmony and development.

While extending warm Easter greetings to Christians in Lagos State and across Nigeria, Obasa called on citizens to remain steadfast in their faith and continue to pray for the peace, stability, and prosperity of the country.

The Speaker reaffirmed the Lagos State House of Assembly’s commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance unity, social cohesion, and sustainable development in line with the aspirations of the people.
