Education District III has recorded another significant milestone in its unwavering commitment to supporting students’ academic aspirations, as a Non-Governmental Organization, 100 Smiles, presented cash assistance to ten (10) Senior Secondary School students to facilitate their registration for the National Examinations Council (NECO) examination.
The presentation ceremony, held at the District Headquarters in Falomo, Ikoyi, was facilitated by the Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary, Mr. Olusegun Olawale Osinaike, who commended the organization for its impactful and timely intervention.
In his remarks, Mr. Osinaike expressed profound appreciation to 100 Smiles for complementing government’s efforts in ensuring that no child is denied access to quality education due to financial limitations. He emphasized that education remains the bedrock of sustainable development and national progress.
According to him, initiatives such as the 100 Smiles Campaign not only provide immediate financial relief but also represent strategic investments in the future leaders of society. He noted that supporting students at critical examination stages like the NECO examination strengthens their confidence and improves their chances of academic and career advancement.
Addressing the beneficiaries, the Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary congratulated them on being selected for the support and urged them to remain disciplined, focused, and determined in their academic pursuits. He described education as a priceless asset that no individual can take away and encouraged the students to make the most of the opportunity provided to them.
Speaking at the event, the Founder of 100 Smiles, Mr. Okusanya Rilwan Olumade, explained that the initiative is designed to restore hope and confidence in students while putting smiles on their faces. He stated that the campaign seeks to help young people understand their words, their worth, and their world.
Mr. Olumade further disclosed that the beneficiaries were carefully selected from public secondary schools within Education District III based on their character, conduct, and demonstrated financial need. He reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to continuing its support for vulnerable students across the district.
The 100 Smiles Campaign once again underscores the importance of collaborative partnerships between government institutions and non-governmental organizations in advancing educational development and empowering the next generation for a brighter and more promising future.
