NFSAN Lagos Celebrates International Women’s Day, Inaugurates Wasiu Nofisat Mojisola as Chairperson

Lagosnewsblog report that the National Female Students Association of Nigeria (NFSAN), Lagos Chapter, commemorated this year’s International Women’s Day with a vibrant and impactful celebration, marked by the inauguration of new female student leaders. The highlight of the event was the official emergence of Miss Wasiu Nofisat Mojisola as the Chairperson of NFSAN Lagos, ushering in a new era of purposeful leadership and advocacy for female students across the state.

The event brought together prominent dignitaries, stakeholders, and advocates for women’s development, all united in promoting gender equality, leadership, and empowerment among young women.

During the ceremony, the newly inaugurated executive members took their oath of office, pledging commitment to service, representation, and the advancement of female students’ interests. The inaugurated officials include:

In her acceptance speech, the newly sworn-in Chairperson, Wasiu Nofisat Mojisola, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and reaffirmed her commitment to fostering unity, leadership development, and inclusivity among female students in Lagos State. She emphasized the importance of creating platforms that empower young women to excel academically, socially, and politically.

The celebration was graced by an array of distinguished guests, including Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende, Commissioner for Youth and Social Development; Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture; Professor Bidemi Balikis Okuneye, Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University of Education (LASUED); Princess Samiat Bada Abolanle, Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA; Mrs. Aranmolate Rasheedat Temitope; Director Abosede George Ogan, Executive Director of Women in Leadership Advancement Network (WILAN); Hon. Bolaji Dada, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA); Associate Professor Kosoko Oyedeko Ganiyat; and Princess Surah Olayemi Animashaun.

In their goodwill messages, the dignitaries commended NFSAN Lagos for its commitment to empowering female students and nurturing future leaders. They encouraged the newly inaugurated executives to remain focused, resilient, and dedicated to advancing the cause of women and girls in society.
