Residents of Epe Local Government have been officially notified of the reinstatement of the Monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise across Lagos State, beginning on Saturday, April 25, 2026.
The announcement was made by the Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Princess Surah Olayemi Animashaun, who called on all residents, community leaders, traders, artisans, and business owners within the council area to actively participate in the exercise aimed at promoting a cleaner and healthier environment.
According to the statement released by the Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman, the sanitation exercise will take place every last Saturday of the month between 6:30 AM and 8:30 AM. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the exercise period to clean their surroundings thoroughly by sweeping compounds, clearing blocked drainage channels, removing refuse, and ensuring that waste is properly disposed of.

She further noted that the leadership of Epe Local Government remains committed to building a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable community, stressing that environmental cleanliness reflects the discipline and progress of any society.
Residents were also informed that the sanitation exercise will be strictly monitored by the Lagos State Government, and all individuals and business establishments are expected to comply fully with the directive.
The council therefore urged residents to cooperate with the relevant authorities and embrace the exercise as a civic responsibility for the collective wellbeing of the community.
The Epe Local Government leadership called on everyone to join hands in preserving the cleanliness, beauty, and environmental sustainability of the Epe community.
