Lagos State witnessed a symbolic and inspiring display of youth leadership as the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, hosted the One Day Governor, Miss Etiyemonu Esther, at Lagos House, Marina, on Monday, February 16, 2026.
Miss Etiyemonu Esther, a brilliant student of Lagos State Model College, Igbokuta, stepped into the prestigious role of One Day Governor, demonstrating confidence, intelligence, and a clear vision for leadership. She was joined by other outstanding young leaders selected for the initiative:
- Miss Awoyemi Dorcas, One Day Deputy Governor from Ikosi Senior High School
- Miss Salami Jumai Olaide, One Day Secretary to the State Government from Angus Memorial Senior High School
The courtesy visit at Lagos House, Marina, reflected the Lagos State Government’s sustained commitment to youth inclusion, civic responsibility, and leadership development. By giving students firsthand exposure to governance at the highest level, the initiative provides practical insight into public administration and policymaking.
Also present during the visit were key members of the State Executive Council, including:
- Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Jamiu Alli-Balogun
- Head of Service, Mr. Olabode Agoro
- Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Lawal Pedro (SAN)
