The Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. Princess Surah O. Animashaun, FHTI, has reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to security and inter-agency collaboration as she received the Lagos State Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service during a courtesy and familiarization visit to the Council Secretariat.
The delegation was led by the Lagos State Comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Comptroller Olofinbiyi Christopher, and accompanied by Deputy Comptroller B.K. Danja, who oversees ECOWAS and African Affairs, alongside the Command’s Public Relations Officer and other senior officers.
In his remarks, Comptroller Olofinbiyi emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration between the Immigration Service and Epe Local Government to enhance enforcement of immigration laws, boost internal security operations, and improve the management of travel documents and residence permits within the division. He noted that sustained surveillance and strategic operations have significantly curtailed illegal immigration activities and appealed for the Council’s support in areas such as office space, accommodation, and operational logistics to further improve efficiency.
Responding, Hon. Animashaun warmly welcomed the delegation and commended the Comptroller for his professionalism, strategic leadership, and commendable service record. She assured the Command of her administration’s readiness to provide necessary support, including office accommodation and institutional collaboration. The Chairman also pledged to intensify grassroots sensitization initiatives aimed at promoting community security, peaceful coexistence, and public awareness on immigration compliance.
The meeting was attended by key officials of Epe Local Government, including the Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Taofeek Araba; the Council Manager, Mrs. Sofoluwe; the Majority Leader, Hon. Oluwo Rasheed; and the Chief of Staff to the Executive Chairman, Hon. Tunde Fuad Odupe, among other management staff and senior officers of the Immigration Service.
The visit further reinforces the strategic partnership between Epe Local Government and federal security agencies in fostering a safer, more secure, and well-coordinated environment across the Epe Division.
